Pezenas Take a stroll through the old town with its unique craft and clothes shops and finally stop at one (or two) of the many bars or bistros in the \'Place de 14th Juillet\'. From June until September Pezenas hosts the Mirondela des Arts, a festival of arts and crafts which includes street theatre, carnivals and exhibitions. There is an excellent market in Pezenas on Saturday which provides an ideal opportunity to stock up on the wonderful regional delicacies, fresh salads and vegetables, meats, cheeses, seafood and of course the local wine. Cap d\'Agde Just 30 minutes drive from Pezenas is the holiday resort of Cap d\'Agde. It has some 14 kilometres of fine beaches and many attractions for the children like \'Toonland\' and the famous \'Aqualand\' with its giant flumes, water slides and wave machine as well as a super \'tots area\' for the very young. There is also much to explore nearby. To the east, discover the barrier beaches sandwiched between the sea and lakes as far as the Camargue. To the north of Cap d\'Adge the countryside with its picturesque villages, numerous historic sites and beautiful scenery extend a warm welcome to the visitor. Meze Our gateway to the Mediterranean and only 20 minutes drive from Laurier Rose, Meze a delightful little town with a wonderful harbour and lots of narrow winding streets. It is situated on the \'Bassin de Thau\' (the large inland lagoon connected to the Med.) and is an important centre for oyster and mussel farming. Huge oyster beds are a local industry and seafood is available everywhere. There are beaches to both sides of the harbour, which are clean, and the water is shallow, ideal for children. Take lunch at one of the many restaurants surrounding the harbour, our favourite is Chez Fady where you will find some of the most wonderful seafood dishes. If you need to walk off your lunch then stroll up to the 15th century church or visit one of the many shops and stalls selling coquillage (shellfish). Gorge d\'Heric Just 45 minutes away, the Gorge d\'Heric is one of the most outstanding beauty spots in the Espinouse mountain range. The walls of the gorge are the finest rock faces in the region and the area is popular with walkers and climbers. The paths and rock pools provide a wonderful venue for a days exploring and picnicking. The is a super little scenic road train that takes visitors on a picturesque route as far as the Gouffre du Cerisier when you can chose either the train to return or take a splendid walk back down past the rock pools and foaming waters of the Heric. Montpellier Montpellier, capital of Languedoc-Roussillon, owes much of its charm to its beautiful historic buildings and districts and superb gardens and open spaces. Good places to sample the unique atmosphere of this wonderful city are the Place de la Comedie with its brasseries, theatres and large nearby shopping malls, the Place Jean-Jaures and surrounding streets and Esplanade de l\'Europe.
