Step through the main Chateau entry into the medieval courtyard with its thick set tower, through a pair of old nail studded oak doors, past a huge stately staircase and out again into the light and rich greenness of the mediterranean garden. Doors lead you into the ground floor apartment with its large open plan dining and cooking area with stairs down to a more formal sitting and dining area.The kitchen is well fitted with a large gas cooker with five rings and an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer, sideboard , table and chairs. When renting the whole chateau, this would be the kitchen to use. . The spacious light living area with its fire place, tiled floor and wood beamed ceiling is very well furnished with two sofas, dining table and chairs, sideboard and antique wooden cupboard. Two sets of glazed doors lead out onto a terrace with barbecue, tables and chairs and glorious views over the grounds, the pool, the village and the surrounding hills. There is a passage leading back past the kitchen area to the three bedrooms, the first with an en suite bathroom and the other two sharing a bathroom, and an optional double bedded studio with shower. Two of the beds are doubles while one room has two twin beds that can be joined to make another double. All bedrooms have glorious views. Coming back out of this apartment up a flight of stairs on to a large terrace with more green landscape views and there is a door leading in to the main reception room of the comfortably and elegantly furnished first floor apartment. A door from here leads into a passage with a small but adequate kitchen on the left with views running to the distant Cevennes. Off the passage are two bedrooms, the first with twin beds and the other double, and another reception room boasting an original and extraordinary cieling which is listed as an historical monument. Off this room doors lead into the third bedroom with a double bed. OUTSIDE AREAS While both apartments have their own generous and private outside areas, there are shady and sunny sitting out places in the grounds and a 6m x12m pool down at the bottom of the 5 acres of grounds with a pool house with loo shower barbecues outdoor furniture etc. Strolling around the grounds, you will find a fruit orchard, old trees, umbrella pines and all the herbs, spices, tastes and smells of southern France.
