The Domaine de St. Baudile is an old country domaine dating back to the fifteenth century, surrounded by vineyards. The chateau was built in 1850 in this famous wine providing region in the Herault, Languedoc Roussillon, France. It is only two kilometres from a 7km long private beach, with bicycle access. Chateau Maigret offers seven bedrooms, two kitchens, four WCs, two dining rooms, with a spectacular fireplace in wood, and even a billiard room. It is furnished with splendid antiques dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The walls are painted using an old 19th century method called “plâtre ciré”. Each of the seven bedrooms is done in a different colour: purple, pink, yellow, green etc., and each has a fireplace and an old gold mirror. There are three bathrooms, each with bath and shower attachment. The two principal sitting rooms were built in wood, with two fireplaces in marble. Amenities: satellite TV; free local and emergency telephone calls; CD player; stereo. Kitchen: dishwasher, 2 fridges, freezer, washing machine, microwave, iron, coffee maker. The swimming pool is separated from the rest of the garden by iron railings and there is an electrically operated alarm system for the security of small children. The pool is surrounded by soft grass, and there is a little pool house painted in yellow and blue. The garden is lit at night. In the garden, there is a large barbecue built of old stone, ideal for cooking the fresh fish and meat you will find in the local markets at Villeneuve or Lattes. There is also a supermarket only 1 kilometre away. In the little town of Villeneuve, you will find a baker, grocery store, post office and a doctor’s surgery.
